My Existence

A little about me... I'm a 24 year old female from Nova Scotia Canada, currently living in Calgary, Alberta. As of 07/07/07 I am the wife to most incredible man alive. We both recently graudated from Dalhousie with BScs and diplomas in DH. I am anxious to start my career as a professional bull rider...as of now it's off to a slow start.

Poor poor pitiful me....

To all my high school friends who may have read my previous now deleted posted:

High school for me was a very very vey difficult time, as it may have been for you as well, and because of this I believe it is easier for me to remember the not so good times and to focus on them. It has been shown that people tend to remember the more negative comments said to them as opposed to the positive, anyways.

I just wanted to say in school I was hurt, and am positive I hurt others and for that I am sorry. It was wrong and immature of me to post these old high school hurts on my blog.

For what it’s worth, I apologize.

Regards

Jana

Meet the Foster's

My Mom and Dad. After 35 years they are still smiling and their love just keeps growing!
Their 4 creations: My three older siblings and myself. My sister is great with child in this pic, baby 3 is on it's way.
The two boys looking good

The Bride and Groom, they make the cutest couple ever. She is so beautiful! Congrats guys.

Me and Farron, isn't he a doll?
My beautiful sister-in-law making me pretty

Visiting Cellars

Okay so Dal pays me to deliver little community notices to Dal's surrounding neighbourhood and well today I had the opportunity to meet a very unique woman on my journey. So up these steps I trot and finally after reaching the top I see an older lady out in her yard tending her flowers, so I tell her who I am and why I am there. Usually when there is someone outside they just take the flyer and say thanks. Well not her no siree, she was asking all these questions and somehow got me in her house. It's a bit blurry as to how it happened, but it did. I was in some strange ladies cellar! At the time I didn't think it was such a big deal, she just wanted to show me a newly renovated room, however Farron had a very different take. He had to come check on me to make sure she hadn't murdered me. And now that I am thinking about it, it's kinda scary. What was I thinking she could have had some man in the basement there ready to do something to me or she might have had super human strength and could have taken me as well...okay maybe I"m thinking a bit too much. But how soft am I that I couldn't just say I'm really sorry Ma'am but I have to get back to work. But no no I thought she was just a lonely old lady no harm done, well no harm done this time but I might not be so lucky next time. In a way it's really quite sad that things have turned out this way, that it's not safe to talk to strangers, or visit their cellars :)

The Brothas

This is a picture of me and my two older brothers. They mean the world to me, growing up we fought a lot and they always thought of me as the bratty little sister. But now that we are all grown up we get along great and I am so thankful for the time we get to spend together. They have taught me so much and influenced my life and my development in more ways than they will ever know.
I am so proud of them, their accomplishments, and their families. I look up to them in so many ways.
Laurie is such a great Dad and I admire the relationship he has with his child, I hope someday to be as good of a mother as he is a father. He has the softest heart and would give you the shirt off his back. He is a hilariously funny, down to earth guy, and one the hardest working men you will ever meet.
Aaron puts 110% into everything he does. He hates the idea of putting someone out, or making them feel bad. He is the best employee anyone could hope for and some day I hope to be half as good as a dental hygienist as he is. He is incredibly intelligent, athletic, reliable, humorous guy.
I love you boys so much. Thanks for all you've taught me and for putting up with all my teenage madness!!!

Makes a Nice Light Snack

Okay so I have discovered the best light snack ever, fresh fruit salad but to make it even more enjoyable I recommend dipping in yogurt. Now on the topic of yogurt, the only way to go is astro original (banana cream, caramel, and french vanilla). This really is the best yogurt I have ever had, simply because it is creamly, soft, flavorful yet light, and there are no yucky fruit seeds or chucks of fake fruit. Yummy!!!!
And for anyone who may be looking for a treat without feeling too bad I have discovered creamsicles. Creamsicles have only 2.5 g of fat per bar and 70 cals. I found this amazing, so when craving some sugary ice cream I recommend grabbing the sicle instead.

Put two and two together

While I was home visiting this summer I heard my nephew say the smartest thing. He said "Gram can I have the calculator I stand on?" And out he came with the bathroom scale!! I thought that was so smart, he didn't know what it was called but he knew it had numbers on it like a calculator and he stood on it. Kids are so intelligent and cute at the same time, I roared when I figured out what he wanted.

The Scale's a Dropping

Well after 6 days of eating more than I have ever eaten in my life and doing next to no physical activity I have lost two pounds and Farron 4!!! We've been trying really hard to eat healthier, including more fruits, veggies, and for me milk, we have also starting eating breakfast, the most important meal of the day. So all in all I guess so far so good. Now if I can just incorporate a little exercise I might be able to lose a bit more and get to my goal weight which is still undetermined.

The Frizz

How is it possible to smile with hair like that? And yes I am holding a snowball made after the hail storm in Calgary this summer!!

Please help make this maddness stop, my hair is out of control. If it is not pulled back into a ponytail, it is just wild, going in all directions, and just a big ball of brilloee badness. It's unstoppable, I've tried frizease, infusium, & mousse. Any suggestions? Or should I just result to the idea of getting it all chopped off?

Christmas Shopping

In a little over 4 months it will be Christmas, how exciting is that?!? And tonight I spent about an hour wrapping Christmas gifts. So far I have the majority of my shopping and wrapping done, I am so proud of myself. I figure this way when Christmas is fastly approaching I will be less stressed and won't have to fight the crowds, stay up late wrapping gifts, or have to try and find the extra cash, not to mention I'll have more time for myself to enjoy my family and being home!!! I love Christmas...All I need now is the music. By the way the Wish Book is out!!!!

Iron Chef Farron

Okay so my future husband is the bestest cook ever. I just finished devouring the most delicious salmon cakes ever! He is always making up new recipes and everthing he makes is from scratch, he makes his own pasta and sauce, awesome meatballs, the best pizza dough I have ever had, and a fruit pizza to die for, just to mention a few. If he ever leaves me I will die of starvation...well that would take some time, lol.

I'm having a real gushy moment, it just sort of hit me how lucky I am to have Farron in my life. He is so beautiful and I seriously do not think I could survive without him. He has carried me through so many struggles and he truly makes me feel as though I matter. The best thing in the world is being in his arms! Thanks Babe for making my likfe worth living, I love you.

Well well after almost 4 months I'm back in the good old city of Halifax. Since we arrived on saturday we've been making a clean sweep of the apartment. It truly is amazing how much crap can accumulate in a little apartment over time. I purged bags of clothes, nick nacks, and yes even a few pairs of shoes. But to make up for the shoes I went to the mall and bought a new pair today :)

Boohoo....I'm leaving tomorrow to head back to Nova Scotia!!! I miss home like crazy and am looking forward to getting back to Halifax to finish up my final year of school, but I am really going to miss Calgary. It was so nice to be able to spend the summer with my brother and his new wife. I am going to miss them like crazy as well as their little doggie and kitty. I had a great summer here and can not wait to move back in May. I know nobody reads this but Aaron and Tanya if you stumble upon this thank you so much for having Farron and I here for the summer, we really enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to see you again. Your wedding was absolutely gorgeous, I'm so jealous of the rings and honeymoon, you two really need to talk to Farron (Just kidding Farr I know all will be well in due time). When we move out here you can have all the free dog and cat sitting you like. Once again thanks so much!!!

My pet peeve would have to be people who say things that are completely untrue. For the past few years industry in my home town has been coming to a slow yet steady halt, therefore a great deal of people especially the younger generation are packing up or thinking of packing up and moving out west. Here comes my pet peeve...all of the older or even younger people saying "oh it's so expensive out there, you can't afford it, it's not worth it." Well I've been here in Calgary for 3 months and so far the only thing more expensive has been cheese. Living expenses here are no different than Halifax, so unless you have lived somewhere other than shelburne county don't try to discourage people from making a living for themselves!
